QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age at time of hire
- Must possess a valid CA driver's license
- Residents - must live or work within the Courtland Fire Protection District service area
- Non-Residents - must live or work within 30 minute radius of the Courtland Fire District service area.
- Obtain CPR & First Aid Certification within one year
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification within one year
RESPONSIBILITES
- Respond to emergency incidents as a member of an Engine Company.
- Attend weekly training on Wednesday nights (6PM - 9PM )
- Attend Weekend Duty apparatus inspection one weekend per month (Saturday or Sunday, 8AM - 12PM)
- Participate in training, general vehicle and building maintenance, public education, fire prevention, and other tasks as assigned, under the direction of a Company or Chief Officer.
COMPENSATION
- Firefighters shall be paid CA Minimum wage while responding to emergency incidents as required by State law
